Closer to nature than ever.

Sustainability is not just a catchy slogan for us.  Our products come from nature and the caring hands of women seaweed farmers.

Preserving the pristine coastal areas of Pemba is integral to our business because our products depend on that natural environment.

Seaweed cultivation in itself is sustainable.  It does not require fresh water or fertilisers.  Seaweed  is also a carbon-negative crop.  In processing and packaging, we work hard to be sustainable, too. Whenever possible, we use solar energy and bio-degradable materials.

We are part of the Blue Economy,  an economic system that conserves the marine environment while using it sustainably to develop economic growth.

Developing a vibrant Blue Economy is a priority for Zanzibar.  We align entirely with this objective and we work in harmony with nature while creating valuable jobs and income, especially for coastal women, who make up 90% of seaweed farmers in Pemba.

We believe that giving back to society is the right thing to do.  Therefore, we invest 10% of our profits in social projects.

Our community support is managed in partnership with the Milele Zanzibar Foundation (MZF), a leading civil society organisation present in Pemba.  Projects target critical social issues such as health, education, skills development and the youth.
